Electricity distribution network

A project that will see the installation of an electricity distribution network in Helsinki’s new Kalasatama district is now underway.

The project is due to complete at the end of 2017. The Helen Sähköverkko Oy project in Kalasatama is intended to enhance electricity distribution in the newly built areas and improve supply security.

Destia is tasked with the delivery of 110 kV transmission cables and 10 kV medium voltage distribution network to facilitate the addition of the area’s new substation as well as the installation of a fibre optic cable to connect the substation and the new shopping centre due to be built in Kalasatama. The project additionally includes the installation of a 110 kV cable connection in Katri Vala Park and a 0.4 kV low voltage distribution network in the vicinity of the substation.
